Fuzbaby Gallery: Early Fuzbomb Diaper Covers
Late 2000 - Early 2001
Following our pattern for a fitted diaper, I drafted, adjusted, and pieced what amounts to a full 1' x 2.5' x 1' box of Fuzbomb prototypes. I used polyester fleece to make the early prototypes because I didn't want to waste wool. The funny part was that it cost me so much more to buy the fleece!
Once the prototypes were worthy of wool, I sent out cover after cover to testers to check fit and measurements as we had done with the testers for Fuzbaby diapers.

Earliest Fuzbomb diaper covers
We used commercially available fabrics for our first cloth diaper covers. This meant boring, dark and neutral colors for the body livened up by bright knit trims. These covers were heavier because the wool coating user was already so heavy before we fulled it. Fully washable.

Cashmere Beauty Fuzbomb
We also continued to make Refuzbombs from reclaimed sweaters. This red cashmere cover was passed between friends, from baby to baby. I've lost track of it now, but it covered a lot of lucky babies' bottoms.
